Jorullo Bridge in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

The sign inside the bar at the end of the bridge claims the Jorullo Bridge is the longest vehicular suspension bridge in the world. While that claim is likely inaccurate, the bridge is still quite lengthy, stretching 514 yards (470 meters) across the open chasm.   The bridge crosses the Cuale River from a height of 492 feet. 35 local farmers built the bridge alongside local engineers in 18 months. There are purple “x”s on some boards whose meaning is unclear.  There is a fee of about 845 Mexican pesos (the ticket collector offered a crappy exchange rate for US dollars so having pesos would be wise.) Dine 909: Las Cuatro Milpas is staying open in San Bernardino

Good news for fans of Las Cuatro Milpas in San Bernardino. After announcing its closure and the retirement of its owners at the end of last year, the longtime Mexican eatery has remained open. The outpouring of support following that announcement helped in the decision to remain open. Current hours are 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Las Cuatro Milpas is at 856 N. Mount Vernon Ave. Crosstown beer collab Corona’s Skyland Ale Works and Stone Church Brewing have released their first beer collaboration. Skyland’s version of Sky Church Imperial Stout clocks in at 11.8% alcohol by volume and boasts coffee and chocolate flavors.
