Good news for fans of Las Cuatro Milpas in San Bernardino.
After announcing its closure and the retirement of its owners at the end of last year, the longtime Mexican eatery has remained open.
The outpouring of support following that announcement helped in the decision to remain open.
Current hours are 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Las Cuatro Milpas is at 856 N. Mount Vernon Ave.
Crosstown beer collab
Corona’s Skyland Ale Works and Stone Church Brewing have released their first beer collaboration.
Skyland’s version of Sky Church Imperial Stout clocks in at 11.8% alcohol by volume and boasts coffee and chocolate flavors.
Stone Church’s version ended up slightly less potent, with “over 10% ABV.”
Skyland Ale Works is at 1869 Pomona Road, Suites E & F. Stone Church Brewing is at 2785 Cabot Drive, Suite 160, and also has taprooms at 3737 Main St., Suite 106, Riverside and 28636 Old Town Front St., Suite 103, Temecula.
The brew is available at both breweries while supplies last.
Give back at Baker’s
Baker’s Drive-Thru is again asking its customers to help support children’s health.
For the next two months, the Inland Empire-based chain is asking customers to round up purchases to the nearest dollar.
The overages are earmarked for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
Spring sneak peek
With the amount of chilly and inclement weather we’ve been having, it’s hard to imagine that spring is actually here but it is, and Lazy Dog Restaurants are hosting a spring menu tasting event April 2-4.
The menu consists of a cocktail sampler (choice of watermelon margarita, rosé aperol spritz or Lillet lemon fizz), a shared Mediterranean trio and chicken katsu sando and either a falafel + hummus roadtrip bowl, slow-cooked pork carnitas, pulled pork sandwich or lumberjack pancake tacos for each guest.
For dessert, either loaded donut holes or triple chocolate mousse to share.
The previews are for two people and cost $85. Tax and an 18% gratuity are added, making the total price $111.28-$112.57, depending on location.
Lazy Dog has locations in Rancho Cucamonga, Temecula, Corona and Montclair.

Now open in Lake Arrowhead
Rippin’ Bowls, which specializes in bowls both savory (poké) and sweet (açaí), has opened at Lake Arrowhead Village.
The eatery — a new concept from the folks behind Lake Arrowhead Brewing Company — is at 28200 Highway 189, Suite F-180.
Hours are 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
New in Redlands
A new coffeehouse, Apostle Brew, has opened in Redlands.
A tasting room serving hot and cold beverages, along with Apostle Brew merch, is now open at 310 Alabama St., Suite 310.
Hours are 5:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
Sorry, we’re closed
The blizzard that hit the San Bernardino Mountains has proved too much for a Lake Arrowhead wine bar.
The Grapevine recently posted on Facebook a statement indicating that they had made the decision to close and sell the business.
The Grapevine was in Lake Arrowhead Village.
Also, a building on Hospitality Lane in San Bernardino has lost both its eateries.
The building at 525 E. Hospitality Lane was formerly home to Five Guys and Poke Ville.
It appears the eateries closed at the end of last year.
