It's metal. Well made. Very nice. Just one thing, you can't hang it on metal exterior doors, because of the thickness of those doors. Interior doors are perfect. Hope this helps.

You hook the long pieces over the door on the bottom there's little hooks the end cats have square holes that's where those little hooks go super easy.

Hello, just put 2 piece door arms into holes of the crossbar. Make sure the arm connects the back side of the cat, so it can hang over the door. hope it helps you.
