{Travel} Birthday Weekend in NYC

We got to celebrate City Girl's birthday in NYC a few weeks ago.

{A view from the train}
After checking into the Double Tree New York Downtown in the financial district, we met up with City Girl 2 at the hotel. It was FREEZING out so it was good we had some indoor activities planned. First off, was attending the off Broadway show, Drunk Shakespeare. It was in the Selene Restaurant which was a few blocks from our hotel.

You are given a welcome shot when you arrive and our seated (all together now!)

The gist of the show is that one of the five professional actors downs five shots of whiskey and attempts to perform a Shakespearean play!   It's wacky, raunchy, hysterical and fun!

They performed Macbeth that evening.  The king and queen were in the audience and got to bid on being part of the show.

After the show we ubered to Balzem for dinner.   The restaurant was cozy and food was very good!
Singing to the birthday girl.  BTW, she MADE that sweater she's wearing!! #impressed!!!

The next morning Mr. Click and I were up early and took a walk down to the waterfront.
We had a great view of Lady Liberty.
Cold morning selfie.

After our walk, coffee was in order and we stopped in at Cafe Grumpy. I got a rose cardamom latte. Yum!

After a few subway rides (some were wrong!), we met up for brunch at Rosie's in the Lower East Side.  More good (Mexican) food was had!

It had warmed up and we walked around and browsed some shops.

This was a cookbook shop that was so cool!
We ended the day with more coffee before heading home.  We always enjoy our NYC adventures!
