We have been traveling to Palestine, TX since 2015 for a weekend full of Christmas fun! We camp (in the camper), shop the antique stores, have lunch at the same restaurant, visit the Grinch, and ride the Polar Express! Each year brings new memories and fun. It's one of my favorite weekends of the year.
Nate, Mason, and I drove down Friday afternoon to meet his parents. We stopped at Hibbett on the way and then some clothing store where Mason got a whole new wardrobe. Then off to the camper we went. This campground is so cute and is close to everything that we do in Palestine. I shared about it on our CampAroundTexas IG here.
That evening we tried a new to us diner in the downtown area. It was delicious and the festive margaritas were amazing!!
After supper, we drove through the downtown area and then to the Grinch's Lair to see the banners that they made using the picture I took one year there! We made Mason stand beside it for comparison's sake. It's so near to see this photo on all their marketing/advertising merch year after year!
Here's the original picture...
Oh, my heart! The wonder, joy, and magic in this photo makes my heart do backflips. What I would give to go back to that time. Mason is growing too fast!
Next, we went to Tractor Supply and Hobby Lobby. Kind of a little tradition we have while there. Then we met Ty & Michelle back at the camper. Michelle and I decorated the camper Christmas tree!
Saturday morning we got up and went to the antique stores downtown to shop before the other half of our group arrived. Palestine has some great antique stores.
Then we met the rest of our group at our favorite Mexican Food Restaurant in town! We eat lunch here every year before starting our Christmas festivities! I had a candy cane margarita and it was delicious!! We had a cousin and her daughter join us this year!
After lunch, Nate's mom gave the kiddos a festive/themed goodie bag. They were so excited!
Next up...the Grinch!!!
